Minimum system requirements:
  • Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7, Mac OS X. (Our tests show that the game is running smooth on Linux as well, but at this point in time we do not support it).
  • Processor (CPU): 1.6 GHz
  • Memory (RAM): 1GB
  • Internet connection speed: 128 Kb/s
  • Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Internet explorer 7+*, Opera and Safari
  • Adobe Flash Player 10.1
  • You will also need the following ports available:
    - for web browsing: 80
    - game communication: 843, 5252 and one of these: 443, 8080 or 80

*You may experience longer load time in Internet Explorer 9.
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler. http://nadirim.com/forum/post/6520

I really need to say this now after long times of not caring enough about it.
Mac + Flash = Fail.
While this is no secret, it is giving me a really hard time playing Nadirim more than 10 minutes smoothly, ever since Twisted Tribe returned to implement 3D Character Models.

Let's see my specs:
  • MacBook Pro
  • Mac OSX 10.7.3 (Lion)
  • 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
  • 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
  • Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202
  • Version: 11.2.202.233
  • Safari, Firefox, Opera & Chrome in their latest stable releases
  • Almost fresh install of my OS (Month old)

This is what happens:
After roughly 10–20 minutes of playing without switching to other programs (or even having opened any) or switching to tabs inside of the browser, all of a sudden the performance of flash drops to almost zero, occupying all of my CPU and Memory at once. Unable to move, unable to chat. Sometimes it calms itself down for a few, then it's possible to play again for another 3–5 minutes before it happens again. The time it becomes absolutely unplayable depends and varies from a minute over 5 minutes to my PC crashing...
Here's some pretty self-explaining evidence in Chrome and Safari (It's the same for any browser tho); Note that there is only one additional application running, which does nothing more than running some terminal commands:

Some additional lookup:
  • I grant unlimited internet storage to gdcn.nadirim.com, storage.nadirim.com & nadirim.com in Adobe's Flash Player Settings Manager.
  • It happens with or without hardware acceleration
  • In Safari, typing in chat is less affected. Chrome and Firefox usually give me a hard time on typing fast even in normal state.
  • Furthermore Safari seems to some kind of background-load while being in the game. (Coming out of fights I can see the preload-bar loading e.g.) No idea if this is supposed to happen like that

Bottom Line:
Apple has always hated on Flash, we have seen this very obvious in discussions on the iPhone and the iPad.
Although there is improvement going on, it's still a hassle.
So what's supposed to happen? Is there any way to improve performance from dev sides? I have seen topics in my life (not so long ago) about increasing flash performance while writing it. I am no flash developer tho so my insight is absolutely zero here.
Do I have to wait for Apple, Adobe and Browser Communities to finally work together on improvements? Can I do something to improve my system, or my configurations? Can the devs make it happen that the user can switch between flat 2D and animated 3D models?

I would really like to see people giving more feedback on performance. I cannot believe I am the only one with such issues.

Thank you for noticing.

I suspect those requirements are a little optimistic. My current system exceeds all the given parameters but runs an incredible 2gig+ of page files (only when playing Nadirim).

I have a new system on order though...

those system requirements were posted before the 3d chars and the special effects (dust, aggro blinking,...)

I was quite happily playing until I got ambushed by a mob that would have killed me. On pressing F5 to escape death , I have now been waiting over an hour to log back on. This is not unusual for me and I generally give up after an hour and curse everyone in earshot. Get rid of ambushes...what point do they serve? I find the same thing with "loading" areas.

I'm fed up trying to even load the game.
2 days now and its useless. I'm sure it's something to do with my location and TT's server. Seems to be no problem in my mornings, but I work Mon-Fri. Am looking for new game...any ideas

Gaspyr, Intel i7 at 3.6GHz, 8GB memory, 3GB graphics, 1G Internet connection.

Plus, the system is brand new which helps.

I'm i7 at 3.4GHz, 8GB memory, 2GB graphics...so, not too dissimilar. Not sure what you mean by "1GB internet connection".

Anyway, I couldn't connect on Monday or Tuesday night, but Wednesday and last night was fine. Just doesn't make any sense to me.
