This is a thread where you can share the things you consider that a newcomer should know about the Nadirim. This can be any suggestion that you think can be handy or useful, it can be, website (how to find the map), quest (they should be happy if they defeater Neseref), character selection (Sage is a better in early game than the Warrior), etc.

Here is one from me, even though I know it might sound a cliche, but I really mean it: You should know that we are listening to you and your opinion is important to us.
If you have ten thousand regulations you destroy all respect for the law.

See you in the game!

A little tip for new players: when arriving in each new town---click on the blue caravan tent (not the camel icon). I didn't know to do this, until after I had gotten to Zenithar, so I couldn't caravan back to either Ashra or Ennahar. When I next visited those towns, I sought out the caravan tents and made sure I clicked on them.

The most important thing to know is that the staff really do listen to what we have to say. The 2nd most important thing to know is that anytime you need help or advice or a funny joke (usually at the expense of the moderators), you can call into chat or post here in forums and someone will come to your rescue. We're a caring, sharing community like that.

Locations of all basic stats are straight forward. Chat box is resizable by grabbing and ragging the lower right corner and is movable by clicking and dragging on the outside border. Character Sheet, Quest List, Skill List and Mini Map are all movable by clicking anywhere on the pop up and dragging them to the desired location.

When exploring a new or complex area, I like to move my minimap up to the top left corner of my screen so that only 1/4 of it is showing. It allows me to see where I am and where I am going without obscuring too much of my game screen.

To whisper another player, type /wPlayer Name, and the Private button will light up for them. Currently, I believe that receiving a new PM will freeze your World Chat until the message has been read, so if you find yourself unable to type, you may want to check PM before refreshing.

While I believe this is slated to change, the current icon for a Daily Quest giver and for a talking dummy are the same. If you are looking for more quests, make sure to stop by these NPCs to see what they have to say.

Upon reaching any new city, do yourself a favor and find the Caravansary before picking any fights. Click on it to activate it, and it will give you teleport abilities to any other city whose Caravansary you have activated.

From the FAQ post, the definitions for each character attribute are as follows:

Damage: Determines the amount of damage you do to an enemy, combat effectiveness.
Defense: Determines the amount of damage taken, the higher your defense the less damage you take, protection.
Speed: It shows the initiative rate, it determines when you can perform an action within a combat turn. The higher the speed is the sooner you will be able to act. Determines the chance to gain a bonus attack within a round.
Precision: Determines the chance for dealing critical hit.
Spirit: The efficiency of the skills that are not causing direct damage.
Health: Determines how much damage your character can suffer before it becomes incapacitated.
Movement: Shows the number of maximum tiles that one character can move in combat.

Hover your cursor over an item to see the difference between that and the one you currently have equipped.

To equip an item or use a healing or energy potion, simply click, drag, and drop item over your character's picture.

From your Quest List, you can delete a quest, and add or remove a quest from being listed in your Quest Tracker boxes on the right hand side of your screen.

By selecting the arrow pointing at any one of the Quest Tracker boxes, you will activate a directional arrow at your toon's feet which will point you to your next destination for that quest.

Required Main Quests are in green, optional Side Quests are in yellow, and the repeatable Daily Quests are in blue.

The "Menu" button in the bottom right corner will access quick links to the official Nadirim Game Guide, the audio options, or will log you out of the game. Please note that regardless of how you leave the game, your progress will be saved automatically.

Please be aware that accepting a quest or selecting the next quest destination may result in being thrown immediately into a fight. Remember to heal up before clicking on the next location!

Thats all for now, so.... good luck, have fun, and see you in game!!

I can't think of anything to add to Rose's newcomer's guide except, if there's any kind of technical glitch, like a missing arrow or a quest that you click on and nothing happens, try REFRESH--cures a multitude of problems.

Rose pretty much covered it, every new player should be linked to that FAQ section that describes stats. It's very important to understand what you're looking for in terms of gear.

There is no need to "rest" your character. Energy regenerates at a rate of 1 point per 3 minutes, regardless of what you are doing or whether you are on- or off-line.

You will win 2 Refreshing Elixers as quest rewards that replenish 50 Energy Points and a Revitalizing Elixer which will give you 100 Energy.

I set my browser to fullscreen when I play, to avoid such problems. For me pressing F11 will make it fullscreen.

1. Stay in touch with Forums(very helpful information here)
2. If you need help don't complain in chat. Someone will definitely help just be PATIENT
3. Don't cap lock when you type. I know you want attention, help or w/e, but it honestly only annoys people.
4. Make friends. They are your greatest weapon
5. Don't be shy.
6. Manners(this should be #1, but I am a tad scatterbrained atm)
7. READ ( I can't stress that enough)
8. Ask questions.
9. Ignore trolls... i.e. players that post thing such as : "f*** this game" . The goal of a troll is to bother players, cause arguments, act stupid, etc in order to mess with the flow of anything.
10. Have fun. If you find after a few levels the game isn't what you thought it'd be from there you'll have two options: Press the little red x on browser and NEVER return(thus missing out on what I think to be a friendly and fun MMO) or suggest edits that you think will make the game better.

ENJOY NADIRIM and Welcome new players

A few words of advice to new players: Early on, using skills and learning their positive and negative characteristics is important. That is accomplished by use in the arena. Fighting solo teaches that defense keeps alive and in the contest, and offense takes you out the winner. The is something else though. Every man for himself will not win the big ones. One must learn how to use the skills as an asset and compliment to the other combatants or the others suffer and may be zeroed out because of it and the battle lost. Keep this in mind when you play and realize that everyone starts as a stranger and friendship is a plus mostly because they might be the one who pulls you out of a tight spot with neseref. If you see me, know that I want to be your friend and I might even have some equipment you could use. see you in game - samcarternx
