Everyone else saw a drop in their defense effectiveness especially over 20%. This is because of diminishing returns has been introduced, which means you have to stack more and more defense points on yourself to gain 1% in effective defense. There is no more cap however (of course it is extremly hard to reach over 50% with the clever use of combat buffs and boosters), and now we can freely add more and more powerful equipment without risking the capping of defense on all warriors.
So it's not your character who got nerfed but the whole game changed behind the scenes, but only for a brighter future for you guys. Warriors are still the thoughest of the classes, and brand new defensive items arrived in the store as well.

I didn't think it was my character, I think it is all warriors. Your post doesn't make sense with its cheerful nonsense about combat buffs and no caps. I have been playing warrior since it was the weakest class in CBT, and I will go on struggling with its gross weakness now. But being able to buy boosters and minions does not make a character or class better, and I find such statements add insult to injury.

not my favorite feature of the patch, but I understand the thought process behind it.
Regardless, is there a set schedule we can see for when the diminishing returns kick in? For example if defense rating 1-99 gives us 1:1 but 100-199 gives us 1:.75 or whatever? It would make transitioning to this new equipemnt structure much easier.

Wow. Love all the new features! Especially the skill trees, adds that much more depth to the game. Haven't tried the Companions feature yet. I liked the Pit Fights, but after finishing the initial fights in the quest(s) associated with the fighting pit, players should be able to return to fight random monsters.
Once again, bravo to the dev team! I'm sure Nadirim is going to be big! Bigger than it is now. :-)

Agree with terp that alot of the changes involve gems. So it seems to me this game is slowly moving to be a game where spending money on gems makes a big difference.

All of this is based just on reading, and on looking at the skill tree. No real play yet. Why will be addressed in a bit (The Ugly).
The Good: Skill tree grows partly by skill points and is pretty interesting too. Companions can be bought with dinars which finally means dinars are more than just travel coins. The pit fights sound cool though I haven't tried them yet.
The Bad: No increase in level/experience cap and no new classes kinda puts a damper on the above good. Even one of the above would help. Also, how about in-game gem rewards like the beetles we used to kill. The pit fights, perhaps?
The Ugly: I know this kind of thing happens after a new patch but I've been disconnected 4 times in the last few hours, doing nothing but looking at my skill tree and upping one skill tree branch, for one character. Each time I've had to get out of the game, wait a bit, and log back in. Ughhhh!

I'd like to make 2 points.
(1) levelling 19-22 will be pretty tedious with new rules. The snakes scorpions and ghosts I levelled on can now wear down a rogue after 2-3 battles, in future it will be a real chore to get those levels; at least twice as long, because it will take a team of at least 2 to do it.
(2) rogue class is pretty useless if enemy boss gets first hit and dodge works only intermittently. I tried Piggy and Silverspear with quite good support (medium warrior/sage); rogue dashes in, enemy boss lands big hit, rogue evade and bomb, small fry land hits and rogue is at under 200 health out of 1800 by end of second round. ROGUES SIMPLY CANNOT ACQUIRE HIGH DEFENCE/ HEALTH!! It just doesn't matter how shiny their abilities are if they never get the chance to use them because the enemy has disabled them at the start. It makes all those gemmed buffs just a waste of money, for rogue.
I was also going to suggest as I did in chat that change skill set should be free for the first week or so to let people experiment. But it seems to me that unless this threshold problem is resolved there is no point even bothering to experiment. The rogue (who is supposed to be the intrepid scout, after all) dashes in and gets disabled without the chance to contribute anything to the team. No amount of skills will solve that, because they can nevrer be used.

Love the graphics everything looks real pretty now.
Don't love the fixed inventory as I am a pack rat but I can live with it.
The companions is a cool feature but it almost feels like cheating to use one since half the fun of this game was to get groups together or just randomly jump into ongoing fights.
I haven't spent a single point in the talent trees since I somehow always end up gimping my character.
I'll let the min/maxers do their work and copy one of the resulting builds

The postive thing i can say here is: thanks for replying to me and to all the others i do appreceate the fact that you react (this is not a thing that is done in all games)
But if i agree with the reaction is an other thing. Skill tree with free skillpoints? This is only partly true, for many upgrades gems are needed. Expanding the inventory can only be done withe gems. And with the diminished stats like def, crit, speed and so on there is a promise of better wheapons and armours to buff the stats. So far the better wheapons are costing gems and can only be bought in youre store. So if i don't spend money i can no longer be called a tank as a warrior. Def went down with more than 50%. Not to mention beserk, if you use that the def of a warrior goes down to the level of a sage.
All together the patch made everyone weaker (warriors at the most) and to improve your character the difference between using gems or not is getting huge.
Be honoust don't act like this patch is there to improve the game just say you want to stimulate people to spend (more) money on the game.

Some good things with patch but i think there is too much commercialization now. I've spent quite a bit on gems already but now everything requires more and more gems. A new player will come and see that everything requires gems, all the good skills, slots for skill combinations and variety of equipment are also gems based. What fun is there playing a pay to win game? Who would want to play this game if it was not for free? Certainly, not me. The community is great in this game (the players, gms) but the game imo sucks. Look at it, It is nothing without it's community.
However, each time the devs come up with a patch they secretly seem to find joy pissing off the majority of players. First, restricting our movements and taking away our strategy where we had to learn the game again. You guys said warriors are tanks and took measures to make it so, now in this patch you have taken away their ability to tank. Now, what are they supposed to be? Same thing with other classes, they are constantly changing and no one seems to make up their mind.
So, we are given a choice with the skill tree system..but oh wait, it requires more gems! Why couldn't the previous 2 skills before the patch stay on to be the only ones that required gems for upgrade? They were chosen because they were well important and offered a big advantage to players who buy gems. Why every single skill, even the very low levels require GEMS now. We do not even have the freedom to experiment in the low levels without spending 40 more gems. Or at least, aren't we supposed to get at least one free chance to reset our skill, in case we changed our mind?
Also, 40 equipment slot is not enough for weapons + clothing + different 'sets' of equipment that have been introduced. We are supposed to pay for slots before even considering what to buy from those 830+++ items you've introduced...bravo. The game only gives a total of 45 gems or so through leveling, that doesn't amount to anything now.
Keep pushing, keep pushing, this is how all other games have failed. You're on the right track. We have such a loyal fan base, they would never leave. Nahhh, we only come for fun and fun only not for loyalty or to hand over money for nothing.

Fighting pits big disapointment
A grand prize for finishing 10 fights in the fighting pit? Don't make me laugh. The pits are for low lv players and even for them you cant call the prizes grand.

The grahics for the new homepage are beautiful, but does anyone else feel like its less desert and more space odyssey? The fade to black aftter the graphics ends feels a little dark for a game that is supposed to have eternal sunshine.
