I see people bragging about soloing this one or that one. Now it is my turn.

Lately I've been fighting Storm Riders (Stormies as they are affectionately known as). A lot battle them for tokens and XP, I do it for the Stormie steaks (cooks like beef, tastes like chicken).

Anyway, as an L28 sage, I am sure you will all say "She solo-ed a group of Stormies. I don't believe it". And you are right, I did not.

I doubt I ever will unless my group spells start hitting with a few thousand points per bad guy.

So now here comes the brag:

I have teamed up with some really good people, to numerous to mention all their names (I will mention Diana41, cause she's my girl).

I have also teamed up with some people who are there, but only because it is a fight they want in on and care nothing of the other people there (a solo fighter in a group).

In my group fights, I want teammates who fight for the good of the team and not individual glory.

Teammates who will use a defense move or spell in a round to protect a teammate even if an offensive move or spell would have gotten them the kill.

Teammates who puts themselves between you and the danger because they have many more HP at the time then you do and can survive the hits (that would kill you)

As far as I'm concerned, a good teammate is how a Legend is born.

So I'm bragging on teamwork.

And no offense to anyone, but if you don't want to be a functioning part of a team, please don't join in my battle (one I am the first one in). I would prefer to die alone than to win with a Glory Hound.

Thanks

PS: Lets go out there and make some Legends

First, no offense meant to anyone by this post. To each his own.

So as no one is showing any luv for a brag about Teamwork, here it is ... a solo

I'm an L28 Sage, and defeated a L28 Storm Rider mob in 93 Rounds. I had a Zenith Archer that lasted 2 rounds and she did little overall damage before they killed her (probably saved me going another 3 rounds).

Know what, was a hollow victory. I had no one to share it with. I told people about it, big deal.

I don't know, maybe there's something's wrong with me. I'd rather die in a battle with a group with everyone working as a team than to win in a solo battle.

Anyway, the reason for this thread.

Okay, ready ..... here comes my brag:

I solo-ed a L28 Storm Rider mob ..... hooray for me.

I'm gonna go join a team.

Playing with a good team, with friends is truly an invaluable experience. As you said, defeating a mob with 3 other people is fun, and a very good thing, but there's nothing special about it, it can be done anytime.

A few weeks ago I took part in a great battle against Bloodthirsty Rhinos. It was great chatting with them, developing the strategy, taking the positions on the board... can't say enough, that it was great, despite after killing 3-4 rhinos, one of our warrior disconnected, and a few rounds later we all died.

There's nothing wrong with you, you just have a different mentality, and it looks like you don't/can't value these kind of personal challenges, victories. For me, defeating a Gorkal mob was not a hollow victory. It's a very different kind of combat, a challange, and needs a whole different gameplay. Despite there were nobody at that moment, I'm happy that I could do it. That's all~

I've been waiting 45 mins for game to load.. ..... so, thought I'd spend time in forum.

If it wasn't for the chat and the friendly humorous banter, I wouldn't bother playing. However, I accept that everyone is different. But, I must agree that if you're in a fight, at least try and be sociable / friendly and help others

There are known Legends among commoners... and there are "Legends!" among Legends, unknown to the non-forum masses.

I meet the best of these "Legends!", executing near flawless synergies, Every. Single. Day.

It's as if they all share a single mind ...

Yeah, I'm no fan of soloing either. The fun payoff is considerably less than the amount of time put in. Not to mention the numerous energy tanks blinking near full as reminder for me to use what valuable free time I have to grind them away instead of soloing .

Still, kudos for those who perseveres. And, kudos to those who enjoy teamwork and able to work well.

"I am no Legend, but I do get to fight with them." A real soldier once said that, and I buy into it too. .... and learn from them.

Two very poignant quotes posted by samcarternx and shonsy (I'll have to add them to my collection)

Here are a few quotes I really like about the stuff Heroes are made of.

Please no politically correct comments about the use of the word man (and all its derivatives) in these quotes and not the word person (or men and women). Enjoy them or not for what they are.

“The beauty of the soul shines out when a man bears with composure one heavy mischance after another, not because he does not feel them, but because he is a man of high and heroic temper”
Aristotle

“And each man stands with his face in the light of his own drawn sword. Ready to do what a hero can.”
Elizabeth Barrett Browning

“True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.”
Arthur Ashe
