I'd like to ask about the general storyline part of the game (the eternal sun, Anwar, the pact with the Nadir), are the game designer(s) had some kind of inspiration from books or movies, any kind of literature, or they did it from scratch?

meanies, they didn't vote for the CEO
sadly missed this poll, but i'm kind of disapointed, cuz i wanted to see game devs in the top of the chart.
still we've game designers, means we can interview Paul Toderas, so here's my first question :
- How are you ?
- which games actually inspired you while building up the story of nadirim ?
- Nadirim has got a great background story, but the game doesn't really highlight this fact. why haven't you guys introduce some special effects that would urge players to read the books we collect from quests ? (i'm kind of talking about the way Skyrim did, means they added some cinematics and quest related stuff, that takes advantage of the story books spread arround their world, becuz i believe most players just click the finish quest button and do not take the time to read the books they get as a drop).
- any idea about the 2 other classes release ? instance system ?
- do you like tea or coffee and why ?
- the storyline leads to killing the Nadir, so we may wonder ... what's next ? will the game have different extensions or will it stick with the main version but keeps on adding features ?
- were you inspired by the game : prince of persia ? have u played it ?
- any idea about how the collision detection system was designed ?
this was my first question for now (which is actually a mixture of mmorpgs basic elements

) , again thx for taking the time to read and answer this first wave.

I have more, but these will do for now. Thank you
How long does it normally take to design new patches?
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
What did you base the range of weapons for each individual class off?
When(if ever) will we get to see those two mystery classes?
Why did you input the Fame System?
Favorite Class?
Have you thought of making a storyline extension where the player gets corrupted or possibly can choose to join the Nadir?

As i recall, the answer to this one was "The world will never know"

Oh gosh. That would give
reasons for PvP. The "good" players take on the "evil." And gosh, if i made alts and split them between the 2 sides, i could go around beating myself up all day.
But i suppose we would need different quests then for the other line.

my question has to do with the playstyle of them game.
it resembles diablo's 2.5d walking style as of late with the new 3d walking but the combat is more Final Fantasy turn based with hexagon movement like chess. if you took final fantasy tactics altitude based movement you could give being a ranged class a whole lot more meaning and depth. i was wondering if you had different games influence the combination of these play styles or if you just enjoy free roam with a more strategic minded laid back action combat system?
frankly i love it. ive played so many old and new style rpg's that this combines the best of both worlds perfectly. and the energy system is alot better than others who have a specific type of pay base. Zombie Pandemic being one of the worse users of this system.
Either way you guys are doing great and my final question is if you are going to implement a Dye system? a dye system would greatly increase the games unique player base in letting them dye each piece of their armor or a whole set accordingly. and i think itd be a great addition to the Gem Shop if ya know what i mean lol I SAY MAKE EM PAY FOR IT!!! |:<
Thanks.

This maybe boring. But, I want to ask how the "
ignore defense", "
enhanced damage" and "
enhanced defense" work.
For example, if I'm in a fight with a 50% def mob, while wearing 3 gears with 7%, 10%, and 5% ignore defense, does that mean that mob is now only working with 28% def now? (50 - 7 - 10 - 5). Or, do you have a different way of calculating?
And how about the other two? Hard to gauge without numbers attached to them.
Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work

Hi Varen,
The general story line was fully created and written in-house. We got the inspiration from the 1001 Tales of the Arabian Nights, but we tried to create our own universe. So yes, we did it from scratch, but borrowed the elements of that universe.
Our universe has a rich history. We're working so you guys can live it in-game or read in the
Lore section.

Hi gaspyr,
Thank you, I'm fine
No games really, but the stories my parents told me when I was younger.
We're working on that. Yes, the game story has 4 chapters from the past that somehow are the reason of events that happen in the current present of the game. We will add more Lore related books and events. Hopefully soon
I can't tell, sorry. About the instances: We just released two new instances last week and there are more to come
Coffee, because it's easier to get. I mean you just need to drop coins into the machine, right?
The Nadir may be the current bad guy, but killing him won't be an easy task, for who could really destroy pure darkness? And there are so much more bad guys in the universe... that are sleeping or are being banished, ready to return if...
Yes, I pretty much enjoyed almost every POP game, but they didn't really inspired me. I tent to separates the different worlds in my mind.
No

Let me share with you the working process of those attributes:
- Ignore defense: we sum all the "ignore defense" attribute on your gear, and reduce the enemy defense percentage by that percentage (not flat reduction).
Example: you have 10% armor ignore on you, and the enemy has 30% defense by default. Every attack made by you on the target will face only 27% defense, as we ignore the 10% of the 30 which is 3. The higher the target's defense the more valuable this attribute gets. - Enhanced damage: It is a similar attribute to any other stat modifier, but it does not say the exact value of the bonus, instead it is added directly to the weapon's minimal and maximal damage. What it means is the weapon with this attribute hits harder than other similar level counterparts without enhanced damage. The bonus varies between 5-10 usually depending on the quality and type of the weapon.
- Enhanced defense: This one is something like the above mentioned enhanced damage but works on armor pieces instead of weapons. Basically it provides around double defense points on an item compared to the same level items (rarity and slot matched).

It's very clear now

. So, I assume the "
ignore defense" stacks too. That means, using my previous example, I'd be facing a 39% defense for that mob and not 28%.
Thank you for taking the time to explain Zyel
